ICCRS International Intercession Training Course · Quebec, Canada

“I chose you to bear fruit that will last” Jn 15:16.
This year the Lord has particularly been generous in blessings for the Charismatic Renewal. From June 30th to July 5th 2015, ICCRS held an international Intercession training course in Nicolet, Quebec Canada. The event was organised by Centre de Prière l’Alliance, led by Denise Bergeron, their director.
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8). Around 500 people answered that call and gathered from 31 countries, speaking English, French and Spanish.
Cardinal Gérald Cyprien Lacroix celebrated mass, in Spanish, during the session. Bishops Bouchard from Trois-Rivières, Grondin from Rimouski, Gazaille from Nicolet and Riocreux from Gadeloupe, were also present to celebrate the Eucharist during the week, mostly in French. Up to 20 priests attended the session.
The six speakers uplifted us by the current of grace of the Holy-Spirit. There was an abundant anointing and many witnessed great blessings and healings. Cyril John was amazed by the thirst of those who were present to learn and answer the call to intercede for the world. Denise introduced spiritual warfare and called for a worldwide network of intercession; many fruits from that call could already be seen. The Word of the Lord: You did not choose me but I chose you, to bear fruit that will last (Jn 15:16) was proclaimed numerous times.
Several moments marked this event, precisely on July 1st, it was “Canada day” when Michelle Moran spoke of forgiveness, and a request was done for reconciliation with the first nation and aboriginals of Canada, for all the wrongs that were done to them during this past century. Forgiveness was welcomed like rain in the desert. Many participants present from the aboriginal nations were moved by this approach, it was truly a day for Canada.
However it did not end there, the Prophetic Intercession teachings and workshops by Cyril made us touch the grace of God. Divided in groups of 12, we prayed for specific intentions for 20 minutes. One testimony that moved many: a snake seen close to one group praying to stop abortions, it was insisting on attacking the group but finally stopped by other group members. On the following day a nun, Sister Claire, who had no idea about the snake attack, prophesized that 100,000 abortions were stopped thanks to intercessory prayers.
During the session Jude Muscat explained about intercession through fasting and Maria-José Cantos urged us to be like Mary the perfect example of an intercessor. Finally Cathy Brenti from the Beatitudes, who was translating most of the week, spoke about the Four Wheels of Intercession: the role of personal prayer, sacraments and the Word of God and how powerful community intercession can be for the church.
“Jesus saves and Jesus is the intercessor” says Pope Francis. On Saturday we had a concert of praise and worship, where the Holy Host moved among us, another great moment of blessing, especially when those who were not able to come were remembered.
“Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (Eph 6:18).

From June 30th to July 5th 2015, there will be an international training course on intercession. The event of the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services (ICCRS) is organized by the Prayer Center Alliance, in collaboration with the Diocese of Trois-Rivières.

Our desire is to form a large family of intercessors worldwide. Intercession, being at the heart of evangelization and mission, is well rooted in the Catholic tradition. It concerns all Christians, not just those who are members of a particular group or movement.

St. Paul, as with the Ephesian Christian community, makes this appeal: "In all circumstances, the Spirit gives you to pray and beg" (Ep 6-18). May that request be an invitation for us to turn to the Father, in the Spirit of Jesus.

Following St. Paul, Cyril John, a member of ICCRS, stated the following: "Catholics, Protestants, Evangelicals, Pentecostals and members of other churches agree that intercession is an urgent call of God for his people today. The Church and the world have an urgent need for liberation, only a fervent intercession can fill that."

This training is an invitation to grow in holiness, to develop trust in God in all things. This will be an opportunity for deeper spiritual reflection, meditating on the life of Jesus, the main intercessor. We will learn together, to open more fully to the Holy Spirit, whom dwelling in us, strengthens us and gives us all the tools necessary for intercession. Teachings, praise and worship, prayers of intercession, daily Eucharist and sacrament of forgiveness, will all foster for an openness to the Spirit.

Several ICCRS Council members will be present:

The President, Mrs. Michelle Moran (England), The Vice-President, Mr. Cyril John (India), Ms. Maria Jose Cantos De Ortiz (Chile), Mr. Jude Muscat (Malta) and Ms. Denise Bergeron (Canada), director of the prayer center Alliance at Trois-Rivières.

Members of the Canadian Charismatic Renewal Council will be present as well.

We also invited to the gathering Monsignor Luc Bouchard, Bishop of Trois-Rivières; Monsignor Denis Grondin, Auxiliary Bishop appointed by the Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB); Monsignor André Gazaille, Bishop of Nicolet.

Several topics will be discussed such as:

What is intercession; the repentant intercessor; the call and the urgency of intercession; charisma-tools for an effective intercession; spiritual combat in intercession; intercession through fasting; prophetic intercession; intercession and suffering; intercession through Mary; four wheels of intercession.
